The Incredible Hulk Dinner

We did a (a pretty easy) dinner for The Incredible Hulk!

For dinner, we had green chicken pesto pasta, smashed potatoes, Bruce Banner's fruit plate, The Incredible Hulk cocktail, and Brazilian Truffles.

Green Chicken Pesto Pasta
I just cooked up two cut up chicken breasts in one tablespoon of olive oil.  I cooked the pasta to the box directions.  Then, I mixed the two up and poured on some amazing pesto sauce!

Smashed Potatoes
I got this from my Disney christmas cookbook.  The whole book can be found here!

Ingredients:
Salt
Pepper
Olive oil
12 red potatoes

Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees and line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil.
2. Fill a large pot with water and add salt.
3. Add the potatoes and bring to a boil.
4. Turn the heat down to medium-low heat and let simmer for twenty minutes.
5. One by one, place the potatoes on the cookie sheet.
6. Using the bottom of a glass, smash the potatoes.
7. Drizzle the potatoes with olive oil
8. Cook for twenty more minutes.
9. Salt and pepper the potatoes to taste.

Tomorrow Never Dies Dinner

I figured since we did an Austin Powers dinner, we should probably follow it up with the real deal!  This is our dinner for Tomorrow Never Dies!

This meal had a ton of different and unique flavors!  And we used FIVE items from my Try The World boxes!  We had Vietnamese Green Curry Chicken, Tom Yum Soup, Wei Lin's Thai Iced Tea, and Paris Carver's Parisian Caramels.

Vietnamese Green Curry Chicken
We got this Green Curry Paste from our Try The World: Thailand box.  While I know Vietnam and Thailand are different, I did some research and while the foods are similar in both countries, Vietnam is usually a little sweeter and less spicy (which is right up my alley!), so I tweaked this a bit to reflect that!  It tasted amazing! However, it was still pretty spicy!

Ingredients:
4 Tablespoons Thai Green Curry Paste
4.5 cups of canned coconut milk, divided
4 teaspoons of fish sauce
2 teaspoons of sugar
3 russet potatoes, peeled and diced
5 large carrots, cut in half
3 Tablespoons of dried Basil
2 chicken breasts, cut up into cubes
1/2 of an onion, diced
1/2 of a red pepper, sliced

Directions:
1. Heat a skillet on medium heat.  Add curry paste with 1/2 a cup of coconut milk, stir to mix.  Cook for three minutes, until fragrant.
2. Add remaining coconut milk and bring to a boil.
3. Add potatoes, carrots, and basil leaves.  Continue to boil until it reduces a bit (about ten minutes)
4. Add chicken, onions, fish sauce, and sugar.
5. Reduce heat and simmer until chicken is cooked (about 20 minutes)
6. Add some sliced bell peppers, serve warm, and enjoy!

Tom Yum Soup
This kit came from our Try The World: Thailand box

Ingredients:
Tom Yum Soup kit
1/2 of a yellow onion, diced
8oz of mushrooms
1 teaspoon of lemon juice
1/4 cup of coconut milk
1 teaspoon of fish sauce
1 teaspoon of salt

Directions:
1. Boil water
2. Add Tom Yum Soup ingredients and cook for four minutes.
3. Add onions and mushrooms and cook for two minutes.
4. Add coconut milk, salt, fish sauce, and lemon juice
5. Enjoy.

Wei Lin's Thai Iced Tea
I got the Thai Tea kit and the Coconut Flower Syrup from my Try The World: Thailand box.

Ingredients:
Thai Tea Kit
Coconut Milk
Coconut Flower Syrup

Directions:
1. Boil water
2. Steep the Thai Tea in the water for about three minutes
3. Pour into desired glasses and add ice cubes
4. Use coconut milk and coconut flower syrup to sweeten to your liking.

Paris Carver's Parisian Caramels
These came from our Try the World: France box!  They were so tasty!

Austin Powers in Goldmember Dinner

For tonight's dinner, we watched Austin Powers in Goldmember...baby!!  While this dinner is totally hilarious... it's also kinda gross!

For dinner, we had "a schmoke und a pancake", Goldmember's skin flakes, Guaca-MOLE, Fat Bastard's corn, and the Goldmember cocktail.

A Schmoke und a Pancake
We cooked up some sausages on the stove to be the "schmoke"
I found the recipe here and altered it.

Pancakes:
3 eggs
2.5 cups of milk
3 Tablespoons of butter, melted
1.5 cups of flour
1 teaspoon of salt
2 teaspoon of sugar
Lingonberry jam

Directions:
1. Mix eggs and 1/2 cup of milk together in a bowl
2. Mix in butter, flour, salt, and sugar
3. Slowly mix in the rest of the milk
4. Cook for medium heat, about three minutes per side
5. Remove from heat and spread with Lingonberry jam.
6. Roll up the pancake and top with extra jam.

Goldmember's Skin Flakes
We just used plain lays chips!

Guaca-MOLE
I got guacamole from the grocery store.

Fat Bastard's Corn
We cooked up some frozen corn in boiling water.

Olivia had a mix of Zucchini, Corn, and Pears!  YUM!

Goldmember Cocktail
I found the recipe here and tweaked it!

Ingredients:
.75oz of Cinnamon Schnapps
.75oz of Apple Pucker
.75oz of Butterscotch Schnapps
Fill with Apple Juice

It tastes like fall in a glass!  Highly recommended!

Our little Mini Me!

And here she is, just a few days old, channeling Dr. Evil.

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory Dinner

In honor of the recently deceased Gene Wilder, we did a dinner for Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.  We had such a fabulous time enjoying his fabulous work and our quirky meal!

For dinner, we had Augustus Gloop's German Tube Sausage, Mike Teevee's TV dinner, Veruca Salt's Golden Eggs, Violet Beauregarde's Blueberries, Charlie Bucket's Fizzy Lifting Drinks, Everlasting Gobstoppers, and a Wonka Bar.

Augustus Gloop's German Tube Sausage:
I bought some fancy sausage from the meat department and Tim boiled them on the stovetop.  Serve with sauerkraut and some German beer if you wish!

Mike Teevee's TV Dinner
Kid's Cuisine, of course!

Veruca Salt's Golden Eggs
We had both good and bad eggs from the egg-decator. I hardboiled eggs and dyed them with a half cup of warm water, 1 teaspoon of vinegar, 20 drops of yellow food coloring, and 3 drops of orange food coloring.

Violet Beauregarde's Blueberries
We had blueberries for us and blueberries (mixed with apples) for Olivia.

Charlie Bucket's Fizzy Lifting Drinks
We had sprite leftover and used that!

Everlasting Gobstoppers
I used gobstoppers, jellybeans, and white icing to make it look like the movie!

Wonka Bar
Of course, we had to have a Wonka bar!

"We are the music makers and we are the dreamers of dreams"
Rest in peace, Gene Wilder.
