Home Alone Dinner

Well, Christmas came and went!  I can't believe it!  We did a dinner for Home Alone right before Christmas and had a great time.

For dinner, we had Little Nero's Pizza, Kevin's Mac and Cheese, Gold Teeth Corn, Fuller's "Wet the bed" Pepsi, French Lemon Meringue Cookies, and "Junk Food" Ice Cream.

Little Nero's Pepperoni Pizza
If you want cheese pizza, someone's gonna have to barf it all up... 'cuz it's gone.

We opted for a pizza from Pizza Patrol.

Kevin's Mac and Cheese
We made up a box of Kraft Mac and Cheese because I'm pretty sure that's what Kevin would make.

Gold Teeth Corn
We steamed some frozen corn.

Fuller's "Wet the Bed" Pepsi

French Lemon Meringue Cookies
I got these cookies from my France: Try the World box

"Junk Food" Ice Cream
I got turtle sundae ice cream!  It was so tasty!

Ingredients:
1/2 cup of soy sauce
1lb of steak, cut into strips

1/2 cup of water
1/4 cup of cornstarch
1 tablespoon of garlic, minced
2/3 cup of brown sugar
Green onions, sliced for garnish
Vegetable oil

Directions:
1. Heat 2 teaspoons of vegetable oil in a skillet.  Add ginger and garlic and cook for two minutes.
2. Add soy sauce and water.
3. Stir in brown sugar and increase to medium heat and bring to a boil.
4. Let boil for three minutes and then remove from heat and set aside.
5. Toss steak with cornstarch.
6. Place wok over medium high heat with 1/2 cup of vegetable oil.
7. Add steak and saute for 2 minutes.
8. Remove steak from the pan and transfer to a plate.
9. Get all of the oil off of the steak and the empty pan.
10.  Add the brown sugar mixture to the wok (which should boil almost instantly now that it's so hot).
11. Add steak and green onions and cook for two minutes
12. Serve over rice.

Triple Dog Dare Ya Dogs
Here's the recipe that we tweaked a bit!

Ingredients:
1 package of little smokies
2 cups of ketchup
3/4 cup of bourbon
1/2 cup of brown sugar
1/3 of a diced onion

Directions:
Combine all ingredients in the crockpot.  Cook on high for an hour and then bring the heat down to low for 45minutes.

Ovaltini
We took this recipe and tweaked a bit

Ingredients:
2oz of Whipped Vodka
1/2oz of Creme de Cacao
2 Tablespoons of Ovaltine

OHHHHHFFFFFFFFUUUUUUDDDDDGGGGEEE
We used Nordic Fudge that we got from our Try the World box.

"Wash Your Mouth Out" Soap
I melted down a package of red andes mints in a saucepan with a little bit of milk on low heat.  I transferred it to a rectangular container.  Stick in the freezer until frozen.

We all had to wash our mouths out but Olivia liked it a little more than expected!
