Batman (1989) Dinner

For Father's Day we did a Batman dinner!

My husband's first word was actually Batman so we decided to do this dinner!  Before Olivia was born, I gave him a Bat Dad t-shirt, diaper bag, and a ton of fun accessories!

For dinner we had "You can't make an omelette without breaking some eggs" Omelette, Bat Wings, Batman Fruit Skewers, The Joker's Smylex Cocktail, "Never rub another man's rhubarb" dessert, and "Got me a live one here" cookie crisp!

"You can't make an omelette without breaking some eggs" Omelette
I found this recipe here!  It's an omelette with Joker colors!

Ingredients:
4 eggs
1/2 of a red onion, sliced
1/4 of a small butternut squash, diced into small pieces
4 strips of bacon, diced
2 twigs of fresh tarragon
4 spoonfuls of Mascarpone cheese
Salt and Pepper to taste

Directions:
1. Cook the sliced onion and butternut squash over medium heat until the squash has softened.
2. Add bacon and fry until squash is completely soft and bacon is cooked.
3. Remove from heat.
4. Mix two eggs with a splash of milk and cook on medium heat for about 3-5 minutes.
5. Put half of the squash ingredients in the omelette.
6. Put 2 spoonfuls of Mascarpone cheese in the omelette.
7. Fold in half and garnish with tarragon.
8. Repeat steps 4-7 for the second omelette.
9. Serve immediately.

Bat Wings
We got Buffalo Wild Wings for this!

Batman Fruit Skewers
We skewered pineapple chunks and blackberries.

The Joker's Smylex Cocktail
I found this recipe here and tweaked it a bit.

2. Add 4oz vodka and the juice from one lime in a glass with ice
3. Fill with seltzer.

"Never rub another man's rhubarb" Dessert
I found this recipe and boy was it delicious!  I changed it up just a bit!

"Got me a live one here" Cookie Crisp
We got these cookies from our Swedish Try the World Box.  Yum!!

Of course, we had to wear outfits!  I had a Robin costume from a previous Halloween, Tim had his Bat Dad stuff, and Olivia... well she had three outfits!

Olivia's first Batman outfit.

Olivia's second Batman outfit.

And her third Batman outfit!

Happy Father's Day to all the Bat Dads out there!
