On Her Majesty's Secret Service Dinner

Here is our themed dinner for another James Bond movie, On Her Majesty's Secret Service.  It was actually a great dinner!  Who doesn't love a good fondue!

For dinner we had Portuguese Peri Peri Chicken, Swiss Alps Swiss Fondue with crackers, apples, and meat, Queen Bee Cocktail, and Irma Bunt's Bundt Cake.

Portuguese Peri Peri Chicken

I had some Piri Piri Sauce from a Try The World sauce that we ate with these wings!  I found the recipe here.

Ingredients:

3 cloves of garlic
1 lemon
1 orange
1/4 cup of olive oil
2 teaspoons of paprika
1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon of dried oregano
2lbs of chicken wings
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1 Tablespoon of parsley

Directions:

1. Preheat the oven to 390 degrees.
2. Place the garlic, lemon juice, orange juice, lemon zest, paprika, black pepper, chili flakes, oregano, and olive oil into a processor and mix.
4. Pour marinade into a ziplock bag and add chicken.  Marinate overnight.
5. Sprinkle salt over the chicken and bake for 45 minutes.
6. Baste the chicken with the pan juices and sprinkle with parsley.  Serve with Piri Piri sauce.

*TBH I totally mixed up the temperature because the original recipe had celsius temps and I didn't know (probably should've figured it out) the difference.  I tried to salvage by finish on the stove but it just didn't turn out that great.  I DO believe when followed appropriately, it is a good recipe!

Swiss Alps Swiss Fondue with crackers, apples, and meat

I used this fondue recipe here

Ingredients:

8oz of swiss cheese, shredded
8oz of gruyere cheese, shredded
2 Tablespoons of corn startch
1 clove of garlic, peeled
1 cup of dry white wine
1 Tablespoon of lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon of dry mustard
1 pinch of nutmeg

Directions:

1. Place cheese in a bowl and coat with corn starch.
2. Use garlic and rub on the inside of the fondue pot.
3. Place the pot over medium heat, add wine and lemon juice.  Bring to a simmer.
4. Stir in the cheese.
5. Add mustard and nutmeg.

Queen Bee Royale Cocktail

I altered this recipe here.

Ingredients

1oz Honey Liqueur
5oz Champagne

Irma Bunt's Bundt Cake
I purchased a pre-made cake at the store!  But it was delicious!

Lost Dinner

Here's a factoid.  We actually did this dinner a long time ago and it took me almost a year to post it!  Life has been crazy!  We watched this show and generally I liked it.  It left a lot open but those characters are pretty amazing.

For dinner we had Smoke Monster Boar (Pork), Dharma Vintage Recipe #17: Mango Sticky Rice, Sun's Garden Vegetables, Charlie/Claire's Imaginary Peanut Butter, Dharma Initiative Beer, MacCutchen Scotch Whiskey, Apollo Chocolate Bars.

I went online and found fake labels for the beer, scotch, and candy bar.  We just wrapped similar items with these labels.

Smoke Monster Boar (Pork)

Tim made an excellent smokey pork rub.

Dharma Vintage Recipe #17: Mango Sticky Rice
I found this from my Kitchen Overlord Cookbook and edited a lot.

Ingredients:
1.75 cups of water
2/3 cups of sugar
1 cup of uncooked white rice
2 ripe mangoes
1 can of full fat coconut milk
1 teaspoon of salt

Directions:
1. Cook rice in the rice cooker
2. Combine coconut milk, sugar, and salt in a saucepan.
3. Use medium heat to bring to a boil.  Cover and turn off heat.
4. Add rice to the mixture and let soak for 20 minutes.
5. Peel and slice mangoes.
6. Fill a ramekin with rice and put mangoes on top!

Here Comes Peter Cottontail Dinner

We had a full house for a pre-Easter themed dinner!  We had our friends Nate and Alyssa over as well as Gramma Cinny!  We watched an Easter classic, Here Comes Peter Cottontail.  We had a great day!

For dinner we had Montresor's Bat Wings, Peter Cottontail's All Season Decorated Eggs, April Valley's Bunny Rolls, Rabbit Food: Pureed Carrots and Ginger, Seymour S. Sassafrass' Colorful Garden Concoction, Rooster's Bubblegum, Sculpted Chocolate Bunnies, Easter Cupcakes.

Montresor's Bat Wings
I found this recipe here and tweaked it since we don't have an instant pot.

Ingredients:
1 cup of BBQ sauce
1/2 cup of brown sugar
2 Tablespoons of Worcestershire
1 Tablespoon of garlic, minced
1/2 cup of water
1/2 cup of honey
2lbs of chicken wings

Directions:
Combine ingredients and cook on low for 6-8 hours.

Peter Cottontail's All Season Decorated Eggs
We decorated Easter eggs we cooked up in our egg cooker.
Olivia LOVED coloring eggs.... she mostly just threw them in the water!

April Valley's Bunny Rolls
I made crescent rolls into the shape below and baked according to package directions.

Rabbit Food: Pureed Carrots and Ginger (Baby Food)
I steamed 1lb of carrots and one inch of fresh ginger.  Once soft, I pureed in my ninja and froze in my baby food trays.  As needed, we heat up 15 seconds at a time and serve a little chilly to soothe Maddie's new tooth!

Seymour S. Sassafrass' Colorful Garden Concoction
I got Blueberry Lemonade from the grocery store.
